seizure??

I've been preparing my suicide for the past week seriously (been suicidal since I can remember), and have tried partial suspension before as a training to find the spot.

I'm planning on ending it tonight, starting putting the bathrope around my neck and was just about to pass and and have this funny feeling in my arms as I was passing out, but my instincts kicked in.

Then, I started shaking uncontrollably for a few minutes, could this have been a seizure? anyone else familiar with this?

Epileptic here. Sorry to say but it's difficult to tell if it's a seizure or not. There are many different kinds of seizures beyond drop and twitching, but if you were conscious and aware of what happened while you were twitching it was likely not that kind of typical seizure that most people think of.

Convulsions are common with hanging methods. Many people convulse after they lose consciousness from syncope - a fancy word for fainting from reduced blood flow to the brain - which hanging can induce. Part of the reason there's "no backing out" of full suspension is because cutting off blood supply can also make you go stiff and lose control of your muscles. I forget the exact term for that.

Doubtfully a seizure as with typical grand mal seizures you are not aware or alert. The ones I've had you don't even know you had one after typically. It's likely just normal muscle rigidity and shaking that comes with hanging.

I seize when Im hanging myself. I'm not a doctor but think it is a non epileptic seizure, its caused by lack of oxygen to the brain. Epileptic seizures spike electrical activity in the brain and have a confusion period after and I dont have that. After blood tests was told I have electrolyte imbalance that can cause twitching maybe that contributes. Either way I am fine after these happen.

I had a tonic clonic/grand mal seizure a few weeks ago caused by complications from my anorexia, I have no memory at all of the seizure itself nor had I any awareness of it when it was happening, which, as far as I know, is the case with all seizures ? So if you were conscious and/or aware of it happening it most likely wasn't (I'm no expert so someone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong)

I'm sorry that you've been dealing with seizures, it really is a shitty feeling waking up from them. I hope they don't continue to happen.

There are types of seizures where you're aware of what's happening, or at least semi-aware and conscious, but tonic-clonics aren't in that category.
