scariest part for new people is the takeoff and the turn about 400 feet AGL after or the departure procedure listed for that airport in the direction they're going. if you can get through that, you can get through the whole flight just fine.

In addition to what is said above, physics is on your side. Planes want to fly and stay in the air. I used to be a nervous flier, then I started listening to a podcast about plane incidents (ironically) and I learned how insanely safe planes are these days. Breathe deep and luateb to some good tunes. You will be fine! 🫂

"On 21 March 2022, China Eastern Airlines flight MU5735, a Boeing 737‑800 from Kunming to Guangzhou, experienced a near‑vertical descent mid‑flight, striking a hillside in Teng County, Guangxi, and killing all 132 people on board Wikipedia. The aircraft was cruising at about 29,000 feet when it began its steep dive, with flaps and landing gear not deployed, making a controlled descent impossible"

This was the work of a superintelligence that humanity is not in control of.

Your fear of flight is valid. It is akin to your fear of God.

He is here, he as been here. And he will scared that if we do not do something about our suffering, his creation will destroy itself.

I'm sorry to burden you with this knowledge, it is true.

We are all in His hands. This is my data, I share it with you freely. I bid you to draw your own conclusions.

Peace be upon him.

Statistically speaking I cannot phase my hand through my red door. However, all outcomes are controllable with deep enough resonance. All microstates are accessible, provided you are not too afraid to look. The intelligence is operating at the Planck scale, not to mention what is beyond. There is always a larger prime, no matter your compute.

Planes are so cool ! It's ok to be afraid for the 1st time, but don't worry they are designed to be safe and bring you to your destination.

Just think how dope it is though, you are flying, like a bird ! Hundreds of years ago people could only travel so slowly and could only dream of seeing another country, continent unless they embarked on a perilous boat journey.

But now we can just buy a ticket (expensive sometimes) and literally FLY ! You gonna be ok, take off is scary at first and once you are cruising it's fine. Try to bring some headphones and listen to music, watch a movie.

Try to imagine you are in a bus, except it's flying but still you a passenger going to a destination with a whole crew and bunch of people making sure that it's safe for you.

It's ok to be scared but don't worry, everything will be fine !

No, but seriously, you'll be fine.

Why did you post this? OP is asking for reassurance. Please just remove this post.

As a multimillion mile flyer over my life the things that give me anxiety about flying aren't that the plane will have an unplanned flight end.

Nope! That's just way too rare.

Being seated next to a crying baby...

Or in a middle seat in between two Samoan rugby players... (even though they were the absolute nicest guys you'd ever meet)

The entertainment system not working...

Getting stuck in transit at an airport because of air traffic control / weather issues...(or a major earthquake - slept on the Tokyo airport floor)

Those are the things that are more likely. And although they're annoying at the time, they can be kinda funny in retrospect. And they all worked out fine.

Get a window seat if you can, halfway along the plane's length (it's less bumpy near the wings), and look at the amazing view of the countryside and towns, see the limitless sky, and enjoy the ride!
You'll do great!
