Sad eyes

I'm taking photos for a curriculum vitae and you can tell that I am just smirking, the sadness in my eyes and the "beaten-down" microexpression creases around them are quite pronounced...

Like, you can zoom in the eyes, nose and mouth and the smile becomes completely irrelevant: that's a sad, very tired person smirking.

Internally whenever I see a picture of myself I always think of my eyes as, "dead fish eyes." I've perfected a great fake smile but my eyes have never looked alive much less happy. They really give us away sometimes. Best of luck in your curriculum vitae.
