So somebody tried to send Trump a package of ricin, which I read is a lethal poison that comes from castor beans. My question is, how does one get castor beans? Wonder how this would be as a ctb method. Going to research further.

Not to mention the fact that people have been questioned for searching Ricin in google. I'm not trying to fear monger- I wanted to do ricin myself. There are easier methods.

They can't question you just for googling ricin/castor beans. People are literally selling castor bean plants online. Are cops going after them? Also its a major news story about somebody sending it to Trump, you're probably going to have a shitload of people googling it just they dont know what it is and they are curious what got sent to trump. You can order castor beans pretty much anywhere. But with ricin, I can tell you that eating it will be an extremely painful way to go. Don't know much about injection.
I've read news articles about the police considering arresting people for just eating the beans, no extracting the ricin or anything. Seems like it'll be a risky method if it fails.

Lol, it was such a strange comment. I mean if police literally went around questioning everyone who googled ricin, wolfsbane, pong seeds, guns, ropes.. They would literally have no time to go after actual criminals. I don't think they'd even have time to sleep or visit the bathroom.

I googled it, a few (2-4) years ago, in the uk with no vpn or other privacy/security things in place & never got a visit from police; but I imagine that if the police were watching you for some other reason it could, possibly, result in a visit.
Can't remember exactly what I found except that it was difficult enough to be as good as impossible for me to consider as a method for me to use to ctb.
As Pandora pointed out, it's currently a major news story so hundreds of people will be searching for more information about it.

Castor bean plants are an ornamental garden plant that is entirely poisonous but it's very attractive so people use them in their gardens. Every part is poisonous to some extent. I wouldn't want to die that way however. Yuck.

From what they said on the news, the plant is absolutely legal and pretty easy to grow. They said it takes a few hours to kill you, up to 72 hours but no details on the pain level. What I'm wondering is in what form was it put in the enveloppe and how it is supposed to kill you if you receive it through mail. It's not as if Trump would just ingest whatever is sent to him in an enveloppe so how was this supposed to kill him?
