Regulators/Nitrogen tank questions

hello, I am trying to find info on two things:

1) I see there are a lot of regulators out there. Which ones are recommended (I am close to broke)?

2) Does the size of the tank matter? I've read that you can use ones that can be lifted instead of the larger ones but needless to say I want to make sure. The lowest volume appears to be 18, 30, and 73.
