Venting Reddit spoiled a show I was watching... And I think my phone is spying on me...

The show is Pantheon. It's really good. I pirate everything. And the series had been sitting in my Hard drive for years. I never got around to watching it, because every time I skimmed through it, reminded me of this graphic novel, username Evie. Which actually has a simmillar premise. But it's cringe, and doesn't really do anything with the premise, and is more akin to a slice of life/coming of age story. Which is not something I enjoy....

So, I wanted to free up space on my HD. It was taking up like 24 GB. I first heard of the show through some YouTube video. I never got around to watching it because I figured it would be too cringe or too technical to enjoy without proper concentration, since it's considered hard sci fi. But I realized I need more HD space, and decided to watch it while working out. And... HOLY SHIT!!!!

It was so good. And I told 4 of my friends on WhatsApp to watch it. I prodded one of them about 5 times, every time the show exceeded my expectations.


I didn't binge it in one go, because I wanted to spread it out.

I only have 3 episodes left.

I went on reddit for a work related thing. And I saw a funny post about the show. I thought it was funny too, and I just kept reading, and I realized it was leading to a massive spoiler... and I think I got spoiled. Might be something I misinterpreted different due to lack of context, so the actual spoiler might be different. But Shit...

Anyway...

I told myself that it's on me for joining the subreddit in the first place, even though I don't remember joining it to begin with. And it turns out, I hadn't...

So unless this is some weird coincidence, reddit accessed my whatsapp chat. Or atleast my google search results(I searched for the creator's other works).

This sucks either way.

aww~ :( that sucks~ >_< and yup, yet another reason we need to ban all this privacy-invasive stuff they have nowadays~ I've also heard of some people having to just avoid the internet in general to avoid spoilers~ >_< personally, I prefer spoilers as I get super scared otherwise or end up trying to finish something I'd otherwise hate due to wanting to see what happens to a certain character or not~ >_<

Your phone is absolutely spying on you. People have demonstrated this multiple times with multiple apps. Every app you have on your phone has access to every other app on your phone. Tiktok knows what websites you search in your browser. Spotify knows what Youtube videos you watch. They ALL use your microphone. They ALL know ALL of your contacts, messaging history, and calls you make.

Same with your browser and any extensions you have. They all gather every piece of data you put out there.
