  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

Do you think if assisted suicide becomes the norm, then we will have zero lonely suicide?

If all rational adults were given rights to commit assisted suicide peacefully then the suicidal adolescents can wait until they become adults to exercise their human's right?

I do think that there would certainly be much less lonely suicides if people had the option of assisted suicide. Maybe it would make life more bearable for people knowing that they have the option of a peaceful exit. However if there was a long waiting time between applying for assisted suicide and actually going through with it, then some people may ctb out of desperation while they are waiting for it. I do think that the process of suicide would not be so lonely if people could have open conversations about it and not have to hide the fact that they plan to die.

I think that for the second question, if assisted suicide was legalised for all adults, then many young people will likely wait rather than attempt in their teens knowing they have the option of a peaceful exit there for them, but of course many will probably ctb on their own, especially those who are suicidal at a very young age as they would find it unbearable to wait for years.

Some kids have some horrific diseases and other suffering, and kids are impulsive so without access to assisted dying they'd stilltry to kill themselves
