Quetiapine OD?

Hi,

I'm just wondering if anyone has any experience with overdosing on quetiapine/Seroquel and what kind of symptoms they had, is it a reliable drug to CTB on, etc.

I use it for sleep, I take ¼ of a 25mg pill because I am very sensitive to it and it knocks me out. Once, I took like 12 whole pills and it out me to sleep for 24+ hours straight.

Can I die if I take enough pills?

Trying to OD on any medication is about the least reliable form of CTB that there is. You need large quantities and to remain undiscovered for a long time. I gave myself over 8 hrs which everything I read said would be long enough, it wasn't. My cocktail was well over what the guidelines said would be enough and at least that part was a success.

I am no pharmacist so have no idea what quantity of Seroquel would lead to death. I only know that next time [and there will be a next time] I will use a different method.

i not recommend it. i takeing q for years now and i have extreme side effects if i take 600mg+ at once :(

Quetiapine unfortunately is relatively harmless during OD. Stick N or SN if you want to OD.

No, other prescription meds. I was just pointing out how low the success rate is with trying to OD with any meds.

have you od'ed on antidepressants? like amit or nortriptyline

Would over 800mg really work? I take 200mg a night so probably have quite a high tolerance for it but I have 2-3000mg to hand.

800mg is a standard dose for schizophrenia in day LMAO.

I used to be prescribed 800mg every day so no, that's nowhere near close to a lethal dosage. I think there was one person who maybe took 50 times that and still survived, can't remember. I think this is why they're prescribing it a lot for all sorts of off-label uses.

Thanks for the input, everyone! I didn't think it would work, but it can put me into a nice long sleep. Guess I'll look into other options.

Don't OD on quetiapine. The drug is an atypical antipsychotic and as such it absolutely freaking sledgehammers more than a dozen different neurochemical receptors in the brain. You will likely either not die but wish you had, or die slowly and painfully of something like neuroleptic malignant syndrome. If you survive, you will likely be permanently damaged and stuck with incurable dyskinesia.

I took an OD on seroquel. It wasn't to CTB. It was more like I wanted a long rest. Instead I got a long seizure that landed me in the hospital for over a week. 10/10 DO NOT recommend.

800mg is a normal dose for a lot of people. The daily cap isn't even until 1200mg.

I popped 60 of them once along with some sedatives. My heartbeat was hell out of wack, must have been over 170 bpm, I had those weird flashes of bright light in front of my eyes that honestly made me think Im going blind and in that flashes I saw horrible hallucinations of mutilated corpses. And after that I just went to sleep ( I remember doctors trynna flush me out and me trying to roll over to the side telling them to stop cause Im sleeping) and thats all. No death, just got traumatised lol.

I OD'ed on seroquel, it doesnt work. Just makes you sleep for 24 hrs and gives you a bad trip, plus you wake up smelling like fungus
