Questions I have about the SN method

(Meaning I've checked the megathreads and guides but didn't find the answer) Does the water have to be a specific temperature? (i.e. warm/cold/hot). I'm opening it to make the drink, how soon does the nitrite turn to nitrate? (Meaning, say I make the first drink, close the SN container, then reopen it to make the second drink- will the first drink become useless in the time it takes to make the second drink since it's exposed to air?

And I'm confused about the measurements in regards to the 50ml of water needed. (It is 50 and not 100 right?) Why does 50ml look so much different between different measuring cups?

It is a stable substance, doesn't turn that fast. You can make both drinks at once. Your regular drinking water works fine.
Water is ok to be 50 to 100ml. If you are using a scale to measure your sn you can use that to measure your water too. Measuring cups generally have similar values for liquids. The lable position may look different because they are different size cups.

Sorry to be redundant but by regular drinking water do you mean tap water? Is there any part type of water that shouldn't be used?

The water you regularly use for drinking. I have yet to see a shouldn't type of water except for the aquarium test which is recommended to be distilled water.

Sodium nitrite will dissolve in any type of water, in its full temperature range, from 0 to 100 Celsius.

In 20 C (typical cold tap water) maximum solubility is 80grams per 100ml of water.

The higher the water temp, the better the solubility.
In 100 C (boiling water) max solubility is 180grams per 100ml.

But you dont need that "max solubility" for your ctb plan. Therefore tap water, no matter what temp will do the trick.

SN breaks down to sodium oxide and nitrogen oxide only at 300 C, far beyond what a hot water can be.
