Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

Professor diagnosed with terminal cancer took matters into his own hands. He booked a flying lesson in Kent, England. He stole the plane minus instructor and crashed it into a field nearby. He died at the scene. Whilst flying he radioed the instructor and explained everything. His body was dragged from the wreckage and resuscitation was attempted in vein.

Such a desperate act when assisted dying may have offered a peaceful end.

Not really intending to make light of this man's suffering and his decision to take his own life, since anyone taking their own life is always tragic, but one could say that instead of investigating the prospect of assisted dying, he, instead, chose the method of unassisted flying.

Seriously, though, this sounds like a terrible way to go. So brutal and terrifying. I don't see anything peaceful about it.

That really sounds like such a horrifying way to die. It is so cruel how people are denied a peaceful exit. It is sad how people have to resort to such awful ways to end their suffering. Rest in peace.

Similar to my proposed 'para-motor method' - buy used para-motor, get an hour of flying lessons, take off from anywhere you like, go up to 10,000ft, jump out!

Terrible in what way? Just curious. Plain crashes are mostly instant death. If you're afraid of heights I see your point.

Awful that he had to resort to that. Surely he was in a rational state since he didn't take others down with him, unlike some.

i believe we can make a clear distinction between the two. The professor planned his exit and made it clear once in flight. He made sure noone else was involved by crashing into a field. The Germanwings incident must have been terrifying for those on board who wanted to live.

But how many of us have access to access to "assisted dying"? If I ever get a terminal DX, I'm hoping Sweat Pea .357 will be a kind mistress.

Not many. Perhaps eventually when politicians realise it can win votes then more may join the conversation. Only time will tell how this unfolds and to who has access.

It's brutal. And terrifying, quite frankly. At least to me it would be. It's not about heights. Brutal is terrible IMO. For me, I'm looking for something peaceful, at least what I, and most people I reckon, would consider peaceful, and plane crashes are not it, regardless of instant death. There's a lot of other ways that would most likely be instant death, but I would consider brutal and too horrific, also.

I'd consider this but I don't want to disadvantage whichever company I stole a plane from. I dislike heights too, and I'm not certain I could guarantee it was a fatal attempt.
