Tbhhhh likeee I need to go I'm ready. Here it's all that's really there when I can't function or I'm reaching my end but not tryna end it...

It's shit but its there. I was gonna try a new one that a trauma social worker I'm seeing works. Now I'm very very unsure on how to proceed bc with the nature of my work I actually CANT just do it on the computer in the hospital :(

I'm worried about getting fired but I am tired and have been so stressed. It's been months that I've been contemplating this and I'm just tired... I'm overwhelmed.

In this word and being of lower-income I realize a lot of the time there isn't much of a choice but mental health and work and work has to be chosen :( I barely have time for appts right now as is so it's just getting to be too much.

Send hugs and good vibes I dunno what to do ;-;;-;;-;

Wish I had a solution for you, but I really don't know what to say other than I'd definitely go to hospital if I were you.

And of course, you can have as many hugs as you like! Cuddles too, if you want to get crazy :happy::heart:

If it potentially a choice between your life and job and you do want to recover I do think going in is the right choice. It will be hard but I believe in you, if you really are committed to trying I'm sure you can do it.

in the us at least it's illegal to fire you for being hospitalized and if you get a doctor's note you're good. you just don't get paid for the time in the hospital unless you have vacation hours.

If you're concerned of your boss knowing the nature of your illness and that affecting your job status, I don't think you have to tell them the details. Docs notes are usually vague "needs time off for illness", etc. Only disability insurance, welfare etc, will need more details and they have to keep it confidential. If you don't have short term disability coverage, then you'll be off without pay but may qualify for welfare. You can apply retroactively after you're out of hospital and feel better able to handle paperwork. Perhaps ask a social worker to help you. That way if you unfortunately lose you job, you'll have some money coming in.

Regardless, I would say that your health comes first. It sucks not having an income but I personally have never regretted taking time to care for myself.

In Canada, you're typically entitled to 17 weeks of medical leave. If you're gone for more than three days, you need to provide a note, but it doesn't need to contain specifics; just to state that you can't work. They shouldn't be able to fire you.

Sorry things are so rough! Are you full-time? Do you have LTD?

With CERB, the way it is, my advice is to ask someone in your HR what your options are before you make any decisions. CERB is a great excuse for companies to find reasons to terminate employees. If HR doesn't get you far, see if you can get on Medical EI, which is a very real possibility, especially thanks to COVID. I hope your options are better than just suffer through. FWIW, most municipalities have free COVID lines set up with pdocs who might be able to help.

Keep us posted :hug:
