Can potassium nitrate be used to ctb? Or can you turn the nitrate into nitrite? Sorry I'm not good at chemistry so I would like some help

In theory yes but it's not that easy to get a clean product. Either buy SN or Potassium Nitrite

you would have an easier time making sodium nitrate into sodium nitrite
