Posting on a forum like this again reminds me of my childhood

With basically everything having transferred to social media sites, I forgot how nice message boards like this felt, with their cute little avatars and signatures and everything. Reminds me of my formative years spent on the Neopets forum, various Pokémon fansite forums, forums for all kinds of video games...probably only possibly relatable to a pretty narrow age bracket here, but for me, a forum like this feels really nostalgic. It feels like the perfect way to bookend my life, if I'm being honest.

Really, that's what it was like? It sounds nice, I've never had that experience but it sounds great with friends.

After seeing this I remembered the old forum I was on. A while ago I checked in and some of the older members were still there or just came back to check in. I messaged a member and thought they were gone permanently. I went back after reading this and saw a message sent exactly a month ago. The forum is nearly dead but the veterans still check in. Most of us were high school students counting down when part 2 to the series was coming out.

I know that was a random story but that just reminded me how something so small could become a nostalgic memory and how much better life was early on and how you don't want to let it go.
