Anesthetics administered when you have a surgery for example. I don't know of any other way you could "control" that.

idk if it's very hard to be woken or how long it lasts for different people, but did you try dehydrated sleep? when I got very dehydrated, I got sleepy, but it lasts shorter than sleep. maybe 1 to 2 hrs for me or less. I don't like any of it except maybe the falling asleep, before I recognized what it was. but for your question, it reminded me
