safe? you mean as in allowed? yes. as in untraceable? it depends, if you remove the exif data then yes.

it's metadata sometimes included in photos that reveals a lot of things, including some that are a privacy concern such as locations and date+time the photo was taken, there's online tools to get rid of it though and some file formats don't even include it
