Partnering with Firearms - How Does This Work?

I'm not looking for a partner. I'm just confused on how people partner using firearms. I can see with some methods (N, SN, CO2), because those all take a while. But firearms is instant. Doesn't make sense how a partner would work in this case. Are we talking murder-suicide? One person goes first, and the other makes sure they are dead before turning the gun on themself? Both people gun in mouth, waiting for a countdown on their phone?

Sorry, maybe I'm just in a morbid mood today...
