Partial suspension/ligature from arm if chair?

due to various reasons the only thing I have access too is ligature.
would tying the cord to the arm of a chair to kinda partially suspend my head do anything at all? Would it be better than just a 'bog standard' ligature with no weight behind it?

I was wondering about this too. I was gonna use the closet but now that we're moved in eeeeeeeeeh. But theres this nice place in the middle of town with a bench i was thinking i might be able to use. The problem is i can see it having a better chance of failing.
