Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

I've read quite a bot on the forum about forms of hanging, and the megathread has some great information. Thank you for people putting this together.

This is the way I intend to go, but the spectrum of success seems almost more varied than any method.

It seems that on one hand, people are finding it so difficult to achieve unconsciousness in the first place, alongside issues of ropes breaking, or the impact of convulsions on rope/ligature effectiveness. On the other hand if one can get things right, it appears an easy method, with very little pain attached.

Could I ask where people feel the reality of success lies for this method, as outcomes appear so varied. Thank you and best wishes to you all.

There are three methods/ways to die by hanging:

  1. Your neck breaks (with long drop hanging).
  2. You suffocate (with short drop hanging).
  3. The rope blocks the arteries and stop the blood from transporting oxygen to the brain (partial suspension hanging).

Method 1 is supposedly fine if you do it right, but this is extremely difficult. If it's botched it's very painfull.
Method 2 is extremely painfull.
Method 3 I think is very interesting. According to my research you will pass out within 15 seconds and be dead by 15 minutes. The late actor Robin Williams used this method.

Method 3 will most likely be my method of choice.

(I'm copy pasting most of my response from another similar thread)
I can give some personal experience from my "hanging attempt". If "pain" is your worry, then you will have none, if you do it right that is. You wont even know you're unconscious. However, you have to put your whole weight instantly if you want to not feel anything.
Thrashing will happen, so you want something that will endure that you should get something as a "one piece" like an actual rope and a very strong base to tie/secure. Ensure you have very strong knots, make multiple ones in case one "fails".
Test it out, put your full weight and even move/thrash around to ensure it holds.

Also if you're serious I suggest you "hang" from your tippy toes if possible. Your subconscious "human survival instinct" WILL kick in, and it WILL try and stand and get away from you "strangling". If you don't want brain damage and this less likely to "fail", then I suggest as such.
