I want it to be mostly painless, but knowing my luck… im considering partial hanging because I theres nothing I can fully suspend myself on. But the problem is that the bar in my wardrobe is very unstable.. it bends and overall I feel like I might become a vegetable. But then, if I want to do full suspension that means I'll have to walk to the woods at 2am, as I don't have my car. Advice would be appreciated :< (also im using a thick extension cord which is pretty stable)

In my experience, if you think you will have si and do partial hanging, it's best to be difficult to get urself back up. My partial hanging method is using a very sturdy coat hook on my door, and I have to go down in a way that it's difficult to stand back up without using my legs and arms at the same time. The closest I've been (and would've succeeded I believe if a roommate didn't hear) was using that method, where my legs went out under me before I could stop myself and my arms by themselves was not enough.
With a full hanging, if si is a concern, for me at least, it kicks in before you even start, because once you you step off whatever you stand on, that's almost definitely going to be it, so walking far could either help you get over si, or just end up being incredibly annoying if you can't push yourself into it.
Full hanging is obviously going to be better for getting the job done, but partial hanging in my opinion is easier to do and less likely to hurt.
Also, the time I used an extension cord did not work very efficiently. The position was always awkward and it didn't tighten well. If you haven't already, I'd suggest making sure that won't end up an issue for you.
I also don't think you should use a flimsy bar in ur closet for it. If you want to, test it with ur weight on a rope using ur hands on the rope, not ur neck.

Yeah, I think I might go for partial but im kind of having trouble finding the carotid arteries— i dont really think that si is really that much of a problem for me unless i know it's going to hurt. Thanks you for the advice :)

Put two of ur fingers from each hand just under ur chin either side of your neck, push in a little in, slide them toward the back of ur neck until you feel pulsing. When I do things, I just tighten it with the loop directly under my chin, making sure it's snug there. Once it tightens fully during an attempt, it's quickly obvious to me if I've done it right or not

Finding the carotid arteries is a pain, LOL. I used to be trying different angles and I only found it once on a whim, during a test run while I was texting someone which meant that if I went through with it… they'd have called someone on me and I wouldn't die. I literally never found it again after that

When I do it, my entire body starts to feel numb, my vision fades, I start to hear voices, and as I approach blackout I have a rush dream sequence. It feels like a high to me. But that numbness and spasming is a sign that it's in the right place. Although I believe I have had no strong effects from my failed attempts. Other people have had bad effects, so don't do it just to get that feeling or just to test it too many times.
