Let's get this right off the bat – partial hanging is one of the two methods I'm considering, the other being Nitrogen gas (which is notoriously hard to set up, acquire, and plan, although in my home country I can get a huge amount of it).

That said, I have a contradictory view of partial hanging. Based on the videos out there, it seems that partial hanging is painful, as the subject is convulsing or some of them are even at the point of suffocating. Yet, on the other hand, some people on SaSu are mentioning that it's uncomfortable but not extremely painful in that they seem to blackout quickly. Some don't even mention that 'head explosion' feeling that much.

I was wondering, for any of you that are in this category of people who are blacking out quickly, do you have any pointers on how to get that stage as soon as possible? For example, where was the positioning of the noose at? Were you standing and just letting your body go? Also, how do you make sure that it's foolproof as in you don't fail from it?

Additionally, I did a half-ass simulation – I rolled up a towel and kind of hung myself from my wardrobe rod. I don't know how to tie knots yet, although I'm going to learn how to. The experience was quite painful cause I had a head exploding feeling, felt like I couldn't breathe, and had hot flashes. I did feel like I had some sort of 'blackout' sensation though and I do believe that this method is fatal. I'm in the process of getting a 0.5 inch climbing rope (I'll probably have more questions about that in a later post), which I'm gathering is better?

This happens with many types of death and us a result of the brain being starved of oxygen. Once someone is to this point, they are absolutely unconscious and have no idea this is happening despite how it might look to us.

I think this comes down to anatomy. I have seen various people swear "X position definitely works" but then everyone says a different position. I usually tell people they just have to try different things until it works. Even during my partial attempt I had to keep sitting up and readjusting the rope until it did not hurt.
Also, how do you make sure that it's foolproof as in you don't fail from it?
There is no way to make any method 100% foolproof. For partial, however, make sure tour rope and anchor can hold your weight and tiu know how to tie the knots. You also might want to try a position that can mitigate the possibility if your body being able to get tour feet back under you.

Any tope that can hold your weight and not stretch too much will work.

You're right there's no foolproof way. At the end of the day, it's up to fate. Did you quickly blackout or ever reached a point where you were starting to black out? I was thinking that if this method was done correctly, then it's like Night-Night in that you're blocking your carotid arteries. I'm still doing some research, but I found out that it seems the positioning would work if I place the noose above my Adam's apple (it's akin to me pressing my carotid artieres above my Adam's apple with my fingers) and if I hyperventilate hard beforehand.

I blacked out after 30 seconds at most. Have no idea how long I was out. I was kneeling and leaned forward but at some point straightened up while unconscious so I survived.

Thanks for the share. I geniunely appreciate the input. From what I gathered the shift in the body position seems to be one of the causes of failure. I don't know if standing and letting go would help more though. I'll need to read up on this.

I've tested it and I do feel some pressure on my nose, ears ringing and sleepiness, but havent fully committed to getting close to blacking out yet

Which position did you put the noose on your neck? Above your Adam's apple? Were you kneeling or standing?

Above Adam's apple and I've tried both kneeling and standing, I think kneeling has gotten me to the closest point of passing out, as well as using folded socks

When you said "closest point of passing out" and "havent fully committed to getting close to blacking out yet," could you expand that? Were you relaxing your body when kneeling from keeping an upright position, and letting your weight down? Sorry, for the clarification, I just want to understand physiology of it. There was another user that I talked to recently who blacked out completely from relaxing their body while kneeling, but they failed their attempt because the weight of wardrobe fell on them or something like that.

What happened is that I wasnt actually trying to ctb so I wasnt fully kneeling down, so I wasnt pressing as much, I just wanted to test the knots and see how it feels

Not even, i couldnt fully kneel like that since my rope tied to the anchor point which was a door frame wasnt as long,
I see. Looks like he had a lot of rope to work with. I wondering if he had an anchor point. Like did he fling the other end of the rope across the rod or feed it through some hole offscreen?

I did it back around 9/2019. I had a thought right before I was about to black out that I should release the knot because things will get better. A couple months later, we all know what happened. Did things get better? Temporarily, but then they began to get progressively worse. I often ask myself why didn't I go through. After that I have been hospitalized twice for a total of 3-4 weeks. Was it painful through the process absolutely not. When I was in boarding school I used to use a partial hanging method as a way to escape from the pain of being there, and my mentality was if I messed up and died then it was just part of the plan. That was 17 years ago, and I still can't go a week without thinking about leaving through my final exit. I remember recently driving on highway 101 in CA headed towards San Francisco and I saw an exit (I don't remember the number) but it's name was Freedom, and the only thing I though about was exit is named Freedom = True Freedom is death = I should investigate. I was driving someone else's vehicle so I had to deliver it responsible. I don't recommend trying, but these were my experiences.

I'm sorry, I'm not sure I follow. You said it was relatively painless, yet, don't try it?
