Discussion Partial hanging at 8 years old? Is it possible?

It's almost certain it was not a full hanging at that age, it would be nearly impossible.

Sadly I read so many articles of children and teens cbt, usually it's some sort of hanging. There was an 11 year old in the US just last week. Then there are the ones in prison who manage to hang themselves with bedsheets or their own clothing. I think most of us on here overthink the method, including myself.

I wish I was as impulsive as the preteen kids who cbt I'm really making a big deal out of a simple 5-minute thing aren't I? I believe that partially stems from my SI.

I believe you're right about overthinking the method, but the failed attempts don't make the news, so that can skew perception as well.

Not me. I'm not saying CTB is always a bad idea, but I hate to think of minors doing it.

I understand why you feel that way. The thought of my younger sibling cbting is horrifying. But as someone who first attempted as a 8-9yo I really want the impulsiveness back so that I can overcome SI. I'm certain that I want to die but SI is one of the main reasons holding me back

Maybe because children do things more impulsively. Adults overthink a lot about the consequences of ctb. I'm including myself too with overthinking.
