hi all! i'm new to this website so i hope i'm not doing anything wrong on accident lol.
i'm writing this because i've recently been trying to experiment with partial hanging to find something that works for me without feeling like my head is going to explode. the problem is i've made no progress!!
i've read multiple threads on partial hanging. the main goal for now is to find a setup that feels comfortable, and that makes me pass out quickly. i see people say that they're able to pass out in just a few seconds, and i'm like, ''huh? how!!''
so far, i've experimented with a necktie, a scarf, a thick belt and a thin belt. the most comfortable so far was the necktie. the belts dug into my neck a lot which is definitely going to leave bruises (not very practical for summer lol. thank god the weather is getting cooler for a bit, so i can wear turtlenecks), they didn't feel good at all. i'll have to try the scarf some more, i don't know.
the way i would do this is by tying a slip knot, then looping whatever i was using as a rope around the doorhandle of my wardrobe (not the best set-up, i know. unfortunately i don't have anything better to use in my room), and holding the end of it. then i'd pull until i felt that the pressure was enough for something to start happening.
i know you're supposed to put a lot of pressure to compress the carotid arteries. i tried both pressing down hard and lightly against the tie but it didn't make much difference. less pressure felt slightly better surprisingly.
also, i tried putting the noose in as many different places as i could:
- right under my jaw was uncomfortable, made me want to cough
- a little under was better i think
- anywhere under the adam's apple (i'm a cis woman, do we even have those? i get so confused when i see people talking about them in hanging threads) was uncomfortable and just tickled my throat for some reason.
anyway, every single position just gave me the head exploding feeling. sometimes worse than others but it would always, always end like that.
so, i never got close to passing out. but the thing that happens every single time is my hearing getting quiet. like, every time without fail. i don't know why? my vision doesn't getting dark or anything, it's JUST my hearing. it'll get quiet and then nothing more. just thay and the uncomfortable heartbeat in my head.
i think the big issue is the fact that i'm holding the end of the tie, instead of tying it somewhere and just letting myself fall into it if that makes sense. like, i can't relax properly. but i don't really want to die just yet, i just want to practice, figure out what my ''sweet spot'' is. so that i'm ready when the time IS right. i don't know how i could possibly tie the noose in a way where it'll undo itself when i pass out.
anyway, i'm now stuck with a sore, red neck and no real progress lol.
i think that's all the info i've gathered so far. if anyone has advice, or has the same issues, please let me know!
