The US has reportedly seen an all-time record in overdose deaths.

On Wednesday, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released preliminary data showing that drug overdose deaths spiked by nearly 30% last year to reach just over 92,000

For comparison, the US suicide rate is approximately 48,000 per year based.

Hopefully it was a peaceful transition for all those who passed. If so, surely there must be alternatives to N that are more easily available from local sources? What do you guys think?

Hopefully we find the secret recipe to an easily available death cocktail, however it's more likely that more seemingly deadly products will just get banned.

wow - that number is almost twice the entire US official suicide rate of 48,000 / year as you say
Bet that will NOT be in many US newspapers.
Some of the overdoses are possibly intentional -- junkies have a truly wretched existence in the US - though many are probably unintentional too - just due to fentanyl in all the street drugs in the US now - and it being so difficult to measure and homogenize the tiny quantities required for fatality.

Still - seems very difficult to buy street drugs without risking arrest / prison ( which in the US means subsequent prison for life because a sentence is never "spent" here or expunged )- so with a criminal record searchable online in seconds - one is unemployable for life - cannot rent an apartment - cannot function here- so 70% are back in prison inside 3 years - surprised it is not higher
- between the undercover police and drug dealers working for the police -- not a world I know anything really about or want to know anything about -- seems like its own circle of living hell.
Doesn't seem like there is any "safe" way to get these drugs for a suicide -- and not sure "wooden chest syndrome" would be a vey peaceful way to go.

I saw this from AP also. I'm sure many of them weren't accidental.
