Opiates tend to relax you, make you feel warm, fuzzy and content. I think they can help, just like benzos or alcohol can too but it depends on the method. If you need anti emetics then I would avoid opiates as they reduce their effectiveness

I find when I take opiates I feel less suicidal.

I've been taking ms contin to deal with my emotional distress lately.

Just be careful with that. I totally agree but the withdrawal now gives me the screaming heeby-jeebies and makes me want to slit my throat

Yes totally. I've only had it two days in a row and really want to take it again today. I'm feeling fucked and just wanna escape the pain. I'm holding off though.
