I'm nervous but oddly excited.. Hoping my husband is on the other side in some form and if not my mind will be put to rest at least. What are peoples thoughts on afterlife ?

Mostly, I think there's just nothing, nonexistence but part of me is a bit delusional and thinks that this life is just a nightmare I'll wake up from when I CTB.

There's an entire megathread about the afterlife in the offtopic section of the forum. But I'm assuming you likely know that already. You may want to check it out if not, though.

The rational part of me that appreciates science and trusts logic says there is nothing after this life is over - that we are merely part of the earth again and consciousness ends. It used to scare me but I think I'm ok with the prospect of a permanent end.

The rest of me - who has witnessed and experienced some very unexplainable shit in my life - believes that in some cases, for some people, death is not the end. I can't explain beyond this, but I know there is more to the world beyond what we can tangibly see and observe.

i think that as far as we can know, death means you just fall into a dreamless sleep forever. and that is what i accept.

I just believe that there is nothing after this, when you die, you cease to exist. Death is freedom from all suffering. I just saw the date of this thread, I do not understand why there is always old threads on the front page of this forum.

You cannot say this definitively. So just admit it is your belief system.

I personally strongly believe shock only exists when I have brain, and when I die my brain stops functioning = no more of anything.
