Online Status

This has been bothering me for a while,but I don't know how to fix it. I have always had the "show online status"and activity boxes unchecked.
This is mostly because I tend to stay logged in,even when I'm not here. It's not a good feeling,when someone tries to contact you,thinking you're here,just because you're logged in. Then it appears,from their perspective,that they're being ignored.

Anyway,it seems to me that not only does my online status show,but also my current activity.
Or,am I the only one who can see it?

I can't see you in the list of who's online on frontpage , your profile doesn't say when last seen or where like others do
I been wondering about this too so now I know only yourself can see that :)

You only show as online to yourself, you won't show as online to anyone else, kinda weird way to go about it, but hey ho!
