Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

It seems I have an issue lately where sometimes I don't get notifications of activity in threads I'm watching - even my own threads. I haven't changed my settings or anything so idk what's going on here. Any help would be appreciated.

Happened to me too a few times. Not often, but like a couple of times. It happens a lot more often with chat messages. I'll wait for a chat message and then discover that I got it 2 hours ago and it just never notified me. And the third problem is that sometimes it tells me that there's a new notification while I'm still on the previous page, and sometimes I have to switch pages for it to tell me.
I'd like to add to this - sometimes I also will not get notification for replies to my comments, mentions, and activity of people I'm following, nor replies to threads I started - but that would fall under the category of not receiving notifications for watched threads. What function does the Follow button serve other than an ego-boost?
Real-time updates to threads and chat are also a bit laggy / glitch sometimes.
I'm no tech expert by any means so I've no idea as to how easy it might be for mods or admin to fix these issues.
