I was at work today and someone was saying it is time for everyone to get a gun because of the state of the country. I told him some people shouldn't have a gun for their own protection. This person knows my mental state as I have confided in him before. He insisted I get a gun. When I reminded him that not only did my dad CTB by gun, but I'm also unstable, he just said "no your not it will be ok, it's better to have a gun and not need it than be caught without. " So he really does NOT understand what he is suggesting....

I just read a separate post where a comment mentioned that our brains just TELL us to CTB even if we don't want to. That is SO me. Give me a gun, I'm gone. I hate being messed up and wish more people understood.....

You are right, some people don't know, they can't understand.

They don't know that we fantasise about having a gun in certain moments.. They don't know that the desperation that in certain moments arrive and overflow our soul and we really would to have that gun... They don't know that we are still alive because didn't had our gun...

What an odd remark (for him) to say considering he knows your history. I'm a pro-2A advocate, but it's woefully incompetent to pressure someone into owning a firearm knowing they struggle with ideations. I applaud your self-preservation by reminding him of your mental state when he was suggesting something he shouldn't have.
