Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

So about 13% of people are logged in. You might think that is strange, but maybe that's normal? Not many sites that tell you how many people are logged it and how many aren't.
Maybe out of all people using youtube right now, only about 13% are logged in?
They mean those could be cops. It also could be some bots. Honestly I don't exactly agree with that statement but I don't want to elaborate. Just explaining what I understand my bad faith actors.

Here's the situation: On 8 April 2025, we received a formal letter from the UK communications regulator, Ofcom, informing us that they had officially opened an investigation into Sanctioned-Suicide.net under the UK's Online Safety Act 2023. While we typically do not comment on regulatory...

people come here and read this side as reactive behaviour. Its like they think about killing themselfs more at this particular moment so they come here to read about death and sadness, which lowers intensity of that feeling. Its not about being a part of this community, but just consuming its content in a moment of need.

I was a visitor for a month until I decided to create an account. My native language isn't English, so I wasn't sure I'd be able to express myself well. Perhaps there are people from other countries who have this same doubt and aren't encouraged to join.
Searching for information without creating an account is difficult, as the search bar only appears with a certain number of posts.
Or they may be curious people who somehow got here.
I'd considered making an account repeatedly over the past couple of days, had filled out the registration form a few times but never hit submit. Saw this thread posted earlier whilst still lurking as an unregisted and was part of the reason I thought I'd finally come say hi.

the OP made this post as a kind gesture addressing those who are lurking but too scared or not sure about making accounts. Its obvious not 100% of those people will make accounts. But we don't need to critique them and make them feel bad for trying to do a nice thing.
