I have bipolar disorder but I generally seem "functional" so no one believes me when I say how bad it is. They just try to placate and move to the next topic. They'd probably not believe I want to CTB and certainly not that I have 2 definite ways to do so locked up in my safe.

Im sorry to hear about it. I have depression but I am generally calm, so nobody bothers about me and they think everything is all good no matter how i feel. Definitely relate to the 'moving of topics' and people not believing me when i want to ctb but i think it is also Cos i dont talk much. I hope you have understanding environment and dont feel ignored. Hugs
That's actually really rather common, to not be believed, or minimized, etc. I'm really good at masking, too—so ppl just don't have any idea what's going on. I don't even generally go out unless I can "perform". So ya, I get that, & it totally sucks…

Absolutely right… at least until even the "mask" has become too hard to put on, then the eventual isolation & indifference from others (& not necessary their faults either).
I believe you. I've experienced the same (not bipolar but another illness). In my experience people don't believe you until you do something drastic and then act surprised that you did something. It's frustrating, I'm sorry it's happening to you too.
People can only understand what you are going through if they have been through something similar. You are the only one that is living your life after all. There is so much suffering that people are going through that is completely invisible to others. I'm sorry you are in this situation. I know that this life can be unbearable when you are struggling. I wish you the best in whatever happens.
I am literally going through the same thing, I was so fucking depressed for weeks a few days ago and all of a sudden a switch flipped and I was "happy" again. I told my friends how it's kind of scary how I went from wanting to rot in my bed and die to wanting to blow all my money on a bunch of animals I have no space for, go missing, travel to Spain and then off myself in the most dramatic way possible haha. They just left me on read
