I've recently been tested due to stiffness of my lower body and doctor found out that my ESR and CRP levels are elevated. If I'm not unwell due to an infection, I was told that it likely indicates inflammation in the body and I've been referred to a rheumatologist for further investigations.

I feel hopeless and thinks that life is even more hopeless should I be diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder and having to deal with this alone really really hurts.

It can be horrible being trapped in this human body as it can torture us with health problems. I'm sorry you are in this situation, it is a dreadful feeling when everything is hopeless. Whatever happens, I wish you the best.

Please do not worry just yet..hard to maybe take this on board, I understand. I had very high antibody levels a few years ago and had to go for a battery of tests.

No one knew what was wrong with me. I was so stiff I could not sit down, lie down, walk without pain. I thought I had the same autoimmune disease as my sister and niece. I was eventually diagnosed with Fibromylagia which can very often present with the same diagnostic results as illnesses such as Lupus. I was prescribed a low dose of Amitriptyline. No other pain medication had worked to date, and I understood that Amitriptyline is often prescribed for neuropathic pain. The pain decreased almost immediately with this medication. I wonder if you could ask your family doctor if they could prescribe this to you to see if there is any improvement, and if there is maybe ask for additional investigations to be made into whether you have Fibromyalgia (which is notoriously difficult to diagnose)?
I hope that you get some answers soon x

I know I said it before but please also ask your doctor to try you on a low dose of Amitriptyline. I was very upset when my doctor first suggested it and said "Why are you prescribing me an antidepressant for pain?" not realising that this medication was initially used for pain in low doses - only later did doctors realise it might be effective in higher doses as an antidepressant. Amitriptyline is rarely if ever used as antidepressants nowadays. Have you also been tested for Crohn's disease - weight loss? Gut "barely working"? Of course, I'm not a doctor - but these are just ideas floating around. x

I've 2 more months before I'd see a rheumatologist for an evaluation. Go figure... Covid...
