I don't like the new SS style at all.
Anyway, you can change it (and use the old style) by configuring it in your account settings.

Bottom left corner of the page and you'll have a selection.
SS Light is the old default.

To be honest, I don't like the new default theme either.
It seems stock-like/exchangeable. Also it's kind of too colorful and inconsistent (too many various colors for example).Last edited:

Perhaps someone should remind the site administrators of the old saying "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." The old SS was not broke.

prochoice? now people can choose which theme they want. if they like the old one they can go back to that one.

We had lots of problems with the old theme and we had to add lots of lines of CSS and extra coding to get things working like we wanted them to work.

I'd be interested in knowing what the new features of the site are other than it looking differently.

When I insert emojis into my comments while on my phone, they do not show when I post the comment.
Any ideas?

Couldn't you have fixed the behind the scenes stuff without messing with the user experience?
It's a lot harder to read on my phone now & laptop/computer isn't an option for me.
I especially hate the "welcome back, long time no see" bit which is huge, way too bright & kinda silly since I was last logged in only an hour or 2 ago.

I think it's nice that there are style choices. Maybe some people will prefer the new format. For me the grey style fits my mood better, so I prefer it.

It didn't change for me, but I'm glad for that. I tried out all the new styles. The new dark mode has a little too much red for my liking though the colors are very pretty.
I still patiently await the return of the incognito style.Changed my mind after using it. Nice design but some of the functionality I'd gotten used to is lost. The floating menu bar means I have to zip back to the top to get notifications and I'm not seeing the convenient home button that was previously added.
It does look cleaner though. Maybe some inevitable bugs to iron out?

Come on, the new style is not so bad. I actually like it, with the trees and stuff. It's relaxing.Glad they changed the dark mode from the person with their head in their hands, it was depressing!!Last edited:I had to go back to the old style for the sake of functionality.
The new theme, the floating menu bar means I have to go to the top of the page to get notifications and messages and I miss the quick hit home button. Also, I find text hard to select when typing as the highlight colour is too pale and I find generally the text appears smaller, even on the largest setting. Can't comfortably read it on mobile.
Shame though, the new themes are pretty, but function comes before form everytime for me. I'd definitely favour the new design if it was as easy for me to use as the old one.
