• Hey Guest,

We wanted to share a quick update with the community.

Our public expense ledger is now live, allowing anyone to see how donations are used to support the ongoing operation of the site.

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

I have so often failed to work. I am about to get hypomanic again. He just ignores all warning signs. I have told him 2 therapists already thought I gonna ctb and that I am not able to work. He still is childish optimisic. His advices are kind of dangerous but tbh I think noone can solve my problems. At least he tries to do so.
Almost everyone is in a positivity buble. My parents too. So that they do not have a guilty conscience because they mistreated me over a decade. It is so obvious that poverty/suicide is awaiting me in the future. Noone wants to see it. (except my best friends. Though I think they are finally a little bit bored because I always repeat myself and all the failures just repeat and repeat)

I'm sorry you are suffering. I think many overly positive people are delusional and are in denial of how bad things really are. I think it is better for people to just be realistic and see things for what they are. I think therapy can help some people, but some problems are unfixable and there is nothing they can really do. I wish you well.

There is a term called "toxic positivity," and it's when people avoid coming to terms with true but unsavory aspects of their lives to an unhealthy extent. Sidestepping difficult situations only by simply changing mindsets may seem helpful on a surface level, but retracting from all negativity prevents constructive analysis and genuine solutions to persistent problems that won't be alleviated by merely ~thinking positively~. Society needs to stop treating blind optimism as the panacea for all suffering.

See:

You can't give an irreversible solution to a temporary problem.

(jobs, relationships, people, money… come-and-go…) Taking drastic measures related to these setbacks will be considered as not "rational thinking" since death is permanent.

This logic explains why terminally ill people are more often "allowed" to die.

That's the thing to consider before doing "something".

Best wishes for you!
Sending hugs! :)
