I thought if I drank some salt water I would get used to the taste of SN, haven't drank my SN tho, it hasn't arrived yet. But now my throat feels like an actual desert, I might have fucked up. Tell me is drinking salt water actually helps with getting used to the flavor of SN or I am just stupid as usual

There's no point in drinking salt water. You don't need to do this again.

Alright, maybe I wouldn't drank it if I wasn't this dumb, sorry
don't worry, I've done silly things too... tho keep a filled water bottle and drink a little more than usual, so one's kidneys can flush the excess salt out faster?

BE VERY CAREFUL DOING THIS. You can actually die from regular table salt but the death takes hours to days and it is unpleasant. Also, salt is an emetic so you can make yourself vomit if you take too much.

I just drank two table spoon of salt dissolved in about 100ml water(?), I didn't really measure my water just enough for a full glass so I'm not sure, I didn't even puke, I just feel drowsy and my throat is sore, do you think I'm still dying a slow and painful death?

don't think so, tho if symptoms become concerning, seek medical advice. You could say you accidentally drank saltwater while rinsing your mouth.

PS: It's ok to go back to regular water consumption now, not too little, not too much ^^

I did this too, with the same amount of table salt as SN I would take. I do think it could help when it comes to what to expect. For instance, I didn't expect it to make my throat burn so much. If I take the SN I might prep some ice water to numb/soothe my throat.

It could also be useful to see how long it takes you to throw up. I took meto and threw up after 4 minutes but later found out that the meto had expired, lmao.

I doubt two tablespoons will cause damage.

If you are still conscious this long afterwards, you are fine. Just the ng to be informative.

I considered this too, so don't feel stupid alone. I actually asked chatgpt at the time about the effects of one teaspoon. Fyi:

i will give my two cents. when i was in (unofficial) rehab for alcohol, i would drink sanitizer, perfumes, rubbing alcohol, etc. this is similar to drinking salt water instead of sodium nitrite. you will indirectly teach yourself to become nauseous and stressed when drinking a salty beverage, and struggle to catch the bus with SN. you will be uncomfortable when drinking it repeatedly and tie an association of an extremely salty beverage with nausea, discomfort, and sickness. with my rehab actions i would become extremely uneasy at the scent of any form of alcohol and would feel sick because of the association. what you did was not stupid, i would have done it as well. i was just fated with a different scenario and learned my lesson the hard way. you should try to get used to salty foods to make it easier though, just not as intense as a fully salty drink. i wish you well sorrowfullyliving.

sorry, off topic, new here. Will anyone tell me how to start a new thread about partial hanging that I will actually get some responses from? I got some ideas but also some questions. Not a ton of questions but a few. Thanks

Don't know who you are asking but right now I am trying to give my mind a rest. Let's just say I am holding on to hope I can ctb soon
the user who drank excess salt.

Hopefully your mind has time and space to rest and feel better.
