Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

So I live in the US and I've been having strong thoughts of just up and moving to a different state across the country. I feel like if I moved and got away from the people who abused me it would make everything better. The only thing is, is that I am a broke college student and have no idea how to move cross country alone, let alone survive based on how much I make. Any advice?

Also I forgot to mention that this past year I have been in 5 mental hospitals due to suicide attempts/ideation and my thinking is that if I get away from everything, things will get better and I can create a life with better and more supportive people in it.

Do you have any work experience? How much longer do you have in college? Do you own a vehicle? Do you have a lease that you can break or is it locked in?

These types of questions will be critical in your ability to move successfully. I wouldn't do anything rash without having settled these questions to some extent.

Moving could brighten your outlook on things yes. But moving will not take away the pain entirely. I'd suggest some type of counseling or alternative method combined with a move.

So I do have work experience and could get a job, which I would probably have to do anyways but I'm currently on disability. I graduate this semester with my associates although I'm not even sure what I would do with my degree at this point. I have a car that's reliable and I live with my parents so no lease, however, this is a very toxic environment.

I've been going to therapy and getting help for 7 years now and nothing has helped. I suppose I have all the resources I need in order to move I just don't know if I'd be able to survive once I actually moved :/

I'd finish your degree since you're so close to doing so. It does sound like you have the resources to some extent.

The next step would be to research potential places you'd like to move. Look at things like job availability, affordable housing, other costs of living, minimum wages for the state, crime rates, potential natural disasters that could occur etc.

It depends on your willingness to work hard for your independence.
Your current environment is toxic but comfortable. If you move away you will have the the opposite situation.

Anyone who works hard will make it.
