  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

Very good article. I have been told by at least two people from the past that I am an emotional vampire and I am trying really hard not to be.
I hope some of you will find this article useful.

Another word for narcissist, clingy, histrionic personality, etc

Not one, but i seemed to attract them in the past, they filled my void and i gave them the attention they craved.
Old flawed human nature before anything became a fixable disorder that needed years of expensive therapies.

I luvv vampires and so do a lot of people. Happy biting.

Hugs

^This is all I think about when I hear the word "Vampire" now.

But yes I've heard of emotional vampires and energy vampires, I think some people are this way maliciously and needlessly while others simply have a lot of trauma that an audience may feel second hand fatigue toward. I think the term is usually used in the context of narcissism though.

I am.... but self-blaming rather than blaming others.
More reason to kill myself soon. Worthless human.

You are not worthless, you are being too hard on yourself. You have self awareness, but try not to judge yourself too harshly.

The list of symptoms include both behavior of being an emotional vampire and personality traits someone may have as a result of, but are not exclusive to, being an emotional vampire. There are many things listed that can be symptoms of depression, bad luck, a bad relationship dynamic or being terminally ill.

For example: 1, (not everyone can understand everyone else in every situation. Sometimes you're talking to the wrong person) 2, (there are barriers for some people in life) 6 (many people do have better lives than others - just a fact), 9 (there are several reasons one may drop contact with someone else, not necessarily because they're emotionally draining.) 10. (Lots of people actually do have little opportunity in life)

Only a few are what I would say could be considered being an emotional vampire: number 4, 5, 7, 8 and 3 - asking others for help and few willing to help may be problematic if you're always expecting others to come to your aid (although it can also apply to someone who is asking the wrong person for help)

I have been using this term quite a bit recently. It holds a lot of face validity and feels extremely apt when I think about the majority of people that have been in my life.
