Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

It's not really a biting problem, more like tearing the skin off my lips, but you get the idea. I noticed a couple of months ago that my lips were actually bleeding a little because of it. Well, like a normal wound would, but I didn't think it was that bad. Usually I do it when I'm stressed, but sometimes I do it on autopilot and notice only when it starts hurting. One time I did it to the point that the lips would hurt even without touching them. I didn't notice when to stop because I didn't even notice I was doing it in the first place. I know it makes people around uncomfortable and it leaves marks on my lips too.

Usually it takes a week for them to get fully back to normal (if I take care of them). Is there a way for me to ditch that habit? I've been thinking of buying some lip care products for it to heal faster so maybe it would help in quitting too. But I can't think of anything that could replace this habit

keeping them really well cared for makes it impossible to rip any skin off because the top layer of peelable dead skin's been exfoliated off each day. doesnt have to be expensive or fancy. after brushing your teeth, just wet-brush your lips until theyre as smooth as possible, then apply a layer of petrolatum while theyre still damp. 2x a day or even more if you need to. repeat for a few days and they should end up completely smooth. picking doesn't reset any progress either, since the end goal is just to get all the dead skin off your lips.

+ if your toothpaste tends to make your lips chapped and more irritated/prone to cracking, switch to an sls free one like boka.

bandaids on your fingertips also help deter any picking behavior in general. gl
