This happened in 2016. Most of the information I could find about it came from her episode of "I Am a Killer" (S2 E1 I think).

Essentially, Lindsay claims her bf Robby was depressed and repeatedly pleaded with her to assist him in ending his life. Eventually Lindsay gave in and choked him to death. She regretted it and attempted CPR. She had no real plan for "getting away with it" and was immediately arrested and convicted.

Very tragic case that I think about a lot. A cautionary tale for those seeking assistance from a partner.

I could be wrong and don't want to come across as judgy... but when the claim is "my boyfriend was suffering and asked me to help him die" it doesn't seem like choking him out is a peaceful way to help.

I feel like you would get more benefit of the doubt if you helped him obtain drugs or equipment so he could attempt in a peaceful way... but choking someone isn't going to be pleasant for them, they will fight against you, I can't even imagine choking someone to death that was a threat to my life or something as self defense.

Did she just throttle him or did she use a technique like a ju jitsu rear naked choke? Anyone can use an RNC to end someone else's life if the victim is willing.

Edit: OK, she used a choke hold. That makes sense. Also, she knew him for less than a month. She's just a killer. Someone who took advantage of someone else that was suicidal. I'm not sure if he was even suicidal. The police report says he was drunk apparently and couldn't defend. And also, she ended up telling her detective that she wanted to take someone's life with her own bare hands. She regretted the statement later on in front of the jury.

This just seems like murder. But of course, if the victim was willing I suppose it's not?

I think it was done in a sexual manner that the boyfriend enjoyed.

Nah, getting rear naked choked out is painless and only takes a few seconds.

I know nothing about this case except for what has been posted here... it just doesn't sound kosher to me. I could certainly get wanting to die and perhaps even asking someone else for help, especially if you're someone bedridden or something like that, making it difficult to take your own life. But it's just hard for me to swallow that someone choking you is doing it to help you. I'd say the same if someone else shot you at your request. Feels weird.

Asking someone to administer an injection makes a kind of sense to me... I don't do needles and if I wanted to die via lethal injection I'd have to get someone else to do it Jack Kevorkian style... and again, if you're disabled in any way you might need assistance with various methods.

But someone wanting to place hands on you... that feels more like they want to do it for themselves than for helping you. Maybe that makes me judgy... but I find that hard to believe as a story. Maybe if dude makes a video swearing he really really wanted her to choke him out and absolves her of responsibility... but even then, feels like it ought to be hard for her to do that and have any conscience at all.

I'm all for suicide rights to take your own life... and in situations where you re unable, I wish for assisted suicide options to be available for people... but random people (friend or not) being able to kill people without witnesses... feels like a slippery slope to me.
