Venting letting people that aren't around anymore dictate your current actions

anyone else go through this? i'm so used to rejection and being disliked that, whenever i join a new community, i get so anxious and worried that the same things which happened before will happen again.

e.g. joining an rp site in my youth, experiencing some awful bullying for reasons i honest to god still do not understand, joining a new rp site now, and sick over worry that i'll be hated and messed with AGAIN despite these strangers having no reason to do so...

it's dumb. i wish i wasn't haunted

I feel the same it's like a cycle of all the same bs :( I'm tired of trying. Even though I have some newer good people I just think my past haunts me.
