• Hey Guest,

We wanted to share a quick update with the community.

Our public expense ledger is now live, allowing anyone to see how donations are used to support the ongoing operation of the site.

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

So guys, I am on a journey this year of letting go of worldly attachments, my ego and then my body. When you leave this world you can't take anything with you. Everything has to go. I think that is why survival instinct is so strong in people because this is all we know. Sometimes we let the stuff in our lives take control over us, instead of us taking control over it. Saying that I have become more of a minimalist (by choice) over the last few years. I think it can help people who are recovering or are going to ctb in the future. It's a win, win.

The world would be a much better place if people reduced or eliminate their worldy attachments all together. It is not enough to just be minimalist in appearances. People with big fat bank accounts should consider that the extra money they have and dont need, wont give them immortality and start giving it to less fortunate people so they at least can have their basic necessities in life covered. The world can so much afford to eradicate homelessness, food insecurity and lack of access to health care. Everyone will be happier as a result. Just my 2 cents

I became a minimalist not by choice. I got sick of moving my crap around cause I couldn't figure my shit out. I am really sad about leaving my kitties. I hope I can visit them when I'm dead.

I agree with this. This is one thing I think is a major reason why many are not successful in CTB even when they know for sure they want to die. They are weighed down by attachments to things whether positive or negative. It's not easy and I struggle with it myself a lot. However I think as someone gets closer to CTB it gets easier. The desires simply fade away and very few things are left.

Exactly, This is why it's so important to start getting ready for death now. Letting go doesn't happen overnight. It's a process you must initiate consciously. It's a practice you must institute regularly. This doesn't mean dying is easy but letting go of all the attachments 'now' makes it much easier when the time of death comes.

The truth is that, everything is meaningless and nothing really matters. Life is just a pointless experience that we go through for the sake of it. Death is inevitable, no matter what we will all die eventually. Even if we do not ctb, we will have to leave behind everything someday. Once we die we will be unable to experience anything, so everything that is important to us now will no longer matter. I wish you the best, I do see it as a positive thing to become a minimalist.

I totally agree. Life is just one pointless exercise in futility and then you die. There is beauty in nature and animals that I have been able to embrace more than some of the superficial qualities that a lot of humans provide. Saying that there are still good humans out there (all of you on this forum for example). But people are so wrapped up in their own worlds, they don't often want to deal with the suffering of others. Then there are people that just want to profit off the misery of others (like those shoddy journalists from the New York Times who wrote that hit piece about this forum). I'm just done with it all already and ready to deal with whatever comes in the afterlife. As an agnostic I am open to whatever death throws at me. Minimalism sure does help though. So glad I never got into collecting objects because I swear I would have been afraid to part with the shit haha. I feel bad for all those hoarders out there.

You have surely inspired me to think the same you do. Thank you for giving your perspective on the futility of materials things. I don't own much myself, but I'm beginning to feel like what I actually do own doesn't provide me with anything beyond my own self-worth, which I already own without useless junk that I may have bought.
