I can only talk about my experience, which was a mild dose of 1mg daily.
It was prescribed to me in the summer to manage the overstimulation associated with my autism.
For two weeks, I felt so calm, really in a way I had never felt before. Some people say it takes a while for it to kick in for them - but I literally felt the effects the very next day. . Unfortunately, after two weeks I stopped feeling any benefits. The doctor has moved me onto quetiapine now.

What kind of advice do you want? For deroxat (which I believe is called Paxil over here) for myself the biggest complaint was the inability to orgasm and well the fact it didn't help my depression much at all but hopefully neither will be the case for you. Though sexual dysfunction seems to be a common side effect among most antidepressants.
Risperidone, I guess I would just watch out for weight gain if it's something you're worried about as it has a tendency to increase appetite. As do most antipsychotics. I think it might also make you sleepy too but I forgot. It's been so long since they've tried those drugs on me because I have adverse reactions to them that are uncommon.
Just take them as prescribed and bring up any complaints to your doctors and if you don't like them then there's always something else to try, I'd assume.
I found the risperidone made me more suicidal. It was the first medication I took so I can't recall the mg. But I also think I'm sensitive to meds because the olanzapine had me sleeping for 15-20hrs, so it probably won't be that bad for you (unless you're sensitive too of course).
(not useful info. Just a rant, feel free to ignore)
Damn doc "you're not waiting it out" there's waiting out mild pain, then there's suicidal thoughts, stomach pain that had me doubled over for hours and sleeping all day (all different meds), you don't wait that out. Also yeah, wait out suicidal thoughts, what's the worse that can happen lol
Thank you for sharing your experiences. Sorry it has those recactions. No similar. Rxrions for me. I understand those effects sucks. Hope you have better opions.

I understand it can have relly undesirable side effetcts perhpas on the long run. The only effzect I want is to be drugged us numb, less anxious. And for this I foind which help with the most in that aspect is sleepong pills( they have anxiety reducing effect). Their effect like instantly. i lose some of my reflexes though. And i tentd not to care about people judgemenet about me however harsh. i guess I have to mention this to my psychiatrist. Thank you for sharing wish you the best.
i don't really about care about functional seewial disfonction . Some do so understandebly.

I think that's and advice on point. I will emphasize to my psychiatrist that need meds for anxiety pourpose and just not mood stibilizers. My mood is stably sad. I can be motivated to fo thing with less anxiety. If I m making sens.

yeah, that totally makes sense. there defiantly are things for anxiety. apparently the antidepressant you're on can help with anxiety (other antidepressants do too) though obviously just because something works for some doesn't mean it will work for everyone. also, antidepressants can take a while before you see any difference, like 4 to 6 weeks so you may have to wait a bit before you see anything. Trying to find the right thing can be such a long and tedious process sometimes. I hope you and your psychiatrist end up finding the right things for you and you end up finding some relief. wishing you the best out there.

Much luck to you, Sweetie !! These reactions differ so much for various people. Always good to look at reviews of drugs online. If 80% of users describe the same problem...just be aware it could happen.
I think she increased my dose to 1m of repiridone and warned me that slipping pill overuse could affect the liver Personaly. I just rather sleep now.
Yeah suggested a psychologue to help with interpersonal stuff and geoup therapy for that purpose. Dk how promising is that?No to mention costly.

Risperidone 1mg ruined my life. I gained 10kg from it in a short time. I also got problems with my prostate which did not disappear after stopping. I curse the day I was prescribed this filth.

well that makes sense too, it is also used for anxiety disorders as well (if you're talking about the antidepressant that is). I don't remember it doing anything for anxiety but my anxiety was really bad for many years until recently.
I see that you are having improvement? that's good to hear.

Seemingly it was prescribed to me as antipsychotic for my bdd psychosis (im from a 3rd world, this how psychiatrist treat their patients, just plain and brief explanations, prescribed not just for anxiety).
I have no problems with weight gain for now.
I confirm it made my sleep deeper and early. But did nothing to my anxiety. Only thing that helped with anxiety is benzos which i think repress it temporarily.
Now thinking about deroxat repressed (perhaps) any sexual desire. Not sure. As for dysfonction. Im not sure either.
O my dose of resperidone went up to 1.5 ml, 2 benzos and half a deroxat a day. Obviously this change is due to my last lash out and being triggered. Basicly they treatned me for mental encarsoration or to took meds and be quiet . I' m such a nut case.

Sorry you had such bad experience with meds.
It's not actually a useless rant.
I always find it funny how they follow protocols or god knows what mental patterns of instructions to say plainly and dominantly wait it out. The only way.
They already beoke trust that way. Always use lack of ressources and solution to dictate that shitty direction. Panic its fine, suicidal thoughts fine. Ok
Was prescribed it for a time. Made me very drowsy and gain a lot of weight. It did have a positive effect on my schizoaffective bipolar type symptoms, but I eventually went on a newer generation atypical antipsychotic.

I apreciated the good nightsleep it gives. As for antipsycotic effects. No idea. Im inthe rabbit whole of overusing Xanax. I have cptsd. Dont know. If you know that rabbit hole. No idea about New gen meds either.

Nice you find a way, whatever available regiment. I would think Xanax addiction is not the ideal road to step in to. But it makes me a bit functional. It's even more difficult to get Xanax or Beno's then being treated in a human way.
I took Risperdone a few times (during the SATs, but my country's version of it) and it did an amazing job of calming me down, but it made me tired, made it hard to move my hands and in regards to thinking about suicide, it just increased the amount of thoughts I had, so it was good for what I needed it for, but I wouldn't take it long term. I had a better experience with another antipsychotic (quetiapine), it made me feel really good, it calmed me down (and it didn't slow me down that much), but it made me gain a lot of weight so I quit it. It was rx to me for insomnia, OCD, depression and anxiety (treatment resistant type - atleast in my opinion).

I can say for certainty it did nothing to my anxiety. It regulate my sleep though.
Good to know your experience with quetiapine.Thank you for sharing. Are you still on it?

I quit it because of the weight gain, but i started using it again from september to november because of a psychotic episode. Now I mainly use weed to calm me down and to sleep, and only take quetiapine if i run out of weed. how long have you been on risperdone? it might take a while to work or it maybe just doesnt work /:

if you hang around tiktok you should check out pssd_network. its a network of people who suffer from sexual dysfunction as a result of psychiatric medications.
For a month now. Run out of options for my anxiety. Especially strong when I wake up. I've been on it on and off no longer than 2 months. Good you have options to deal with anxiety.
