What do think about these things? Im not religious but I am very spiritual. I am obsessed with the work of Delores Cannon, Michael Newton and Robert Schwartz where they put people into a deep state of hypnosis where they can essentially interview their souls and understand why they were here and what sort of lessons their souls wanted to learn by coming to the school that is earth.

Some things I resonate with, others I don't. Delores Cannon and Michael Newton assert that if you commit suicide, you are aborting your soul's missionary and then you will have to reincarnate again to learn those ssme hard lessons. I appreciate Robert Schwartz' perspective more. He said that you can leave if you want to, you will be met with compassion on the other side, but you may feel disappointed in yourself. However, you can choose to make things easier in the next life.

One thing that helps me is thinking that maybe I have a mission here and there is meaning in my struggle, that it is somehow helping my soul evolve.

i think your higher self decide which way will benefit itself (which is you) then it decides where to put itself , it can be earth or another place. it learns lessons and then reunites. so they dont care it you ctb, you cant die.i guess they will just put you again in other place so idk.
after you learn all your lessons it will kill you anyway unless you extend it

Dude. Finally the spiritual people come out of hiding lol. This is the area I'm obsessed with because I'm passively suicidal since my teens and just turned 30. I've been binging spiritual content the last 3 or so years when I've gone back and forth between atheist and spiritual.

I agree with you. This thing about aborting the mission and going back into a life this difficult that most people wouldn't survive drove me crazy. Thats beyond sick if that's how it works. I like the Rob Schwartz perspective on being met with compassion too, a really cool medium I like also shares this perspective.

I like your questions and I hope they keep coming

I think science can answer the question "what am I", and psychology can answer the question "who am I"

I think spirituality, what ever flavour resonates with you, is important to answer the question "why am i"

I'm not familiar with those athors, would you feel comfortable sharing a little bit more on their world view

One thing that helps me is thinking that maybe I have a mission here and there is meaning in my struggle, that it is somehow helping my soul evolve.
Something I have been struggling with is I don't know how to turn my pain into purpose anymore

I'm happy you have found an outlet for it. Warms my heart

There's a great quote from bojack horseman ... let me share it

Yes! Its was the first one I read that led me to discover past lives/life between lives. I would really love to get a n life between lives regression, I feel like it could maybe give me the answers I havw been searching for, to find the greater purpose and maybe make living easier

Oh yay! Im glad I found my people! Im so sorry youve felt that way for so long. I can relate, also felt the same since my teen years. What got you into all of this? Was it the fact that you were suicidal?what medium is that?

Thank you! 😊

I really like that

I'm not familiar with those athors, would you feel comfortable sharing a little bit more on their world view they are part of the new age spirituality movement. They are both well known for their work on past life and life between life regression hypnosis. They both have some pretty radical ideas on what happens when you die. Delores Cannon however also speaks of aliens, other dimensions and conspiracy theory type stuff too and Her works are probably the most radical. I can get behind some of it but I am most interested to know about our soul's purpose
Something I have been struggling with is I don't know how to turn my pain into purpose anymore. Damn, its not easy when life feels really hard. You've mentioned before that your life circumstances seem okay on paper, so is it that you just feel like you are fighting with your own mind?

I'm happy you have found an outlet for it. Warms my heart I appreciate it. It has been a source of strength in times of struggle since I found it, but of course I still Waffle on what I want to do with this life, but I do feel like I have "extra support" if I decide I want to stay, and I ask for it.

"That means that all the damage I got isn't 'good damage'. It's just damage. I have gotten nothing out of it and all those years I was miserable was for nothing" - Diane Ha that was a fun show. In terms of therapy, I think pushing the resilience narrative to people who have had trauma can be harmful unless rhey already hold it in some way or form, it doesnt excuse the trauma. However, if we want to look at it from a spiritual perspective, what seems to happen is that we are supposed to learn from duality. If we came here to learn something specific, we are put into situations that cause us to experience the opposite. That is the challenge we are meant to overcome. Im still figuring hoe to flip the script in my own life!

Yes, the fact that I was born with anhedonia/no interest in this human stuff and have felt more like an observer my whole life got me into this. I didn't want to live like this anymore. His name is Shawn Leonard.

I appreciate you sharing your story. I am so sad to hear you have been suffering. Trauma sticks with you though and I consider that more than enough of a reason to be battling with your own mind. Since you are in the recovery forum, Id love to hear what is your reason is for living

Yes for sure, I have been fighting with my mind my whole life. I think that is what I am supposed to overcome and To learn self love. It seems like a very far away goal when I struggle and especially when I forget about my spiritual connection. There is a long story behind it. Sometimes it feels like all I have, but yes it has given me a reason to live at times.

By the way, that is cool that you live in NZ. Seems like a beautiful fantasy land that only exists in fairy tales.

hmmm i dont know
i dont have long term protective factor

im not impulsive so not gonna ctb in thr next week
just slowly chipping away at the plan to ctb

short term just keep busy as i dont want my inner distress to distress others, so i can ctb later in peace

lol probably why my suicidal ideation and planning gets me put under the public health team

when im dysregulated, i dont care and i get closer to ctb. baby steps i guess, in a warped way

how about you? what are the things keeping you grounded to this world? what keeps you from planning ctb? what short term, and what long term?

By the way, that is cool that you live in NZ. Seems like a beautiful fantasy land that only exists in fairy tales.
yeah im very lucky
on a bus back towards my little town
view is calming

if i may ask, where in thr world are you? and how is the weather there

I'm not sure about neurodivergent. I've only been diagnosed with anhedonia and people who have depersonalization told me that my symptoms sound exactly like theirs. So maybe life long anhedonia and depersonalization type of issues rather than neurodivergence, but I don't really know because no one diagnosed me with anything else other than anhedonia.

Well I am glad you are here for now but I respect your decisions.

I get not wanting to worry people. Its hard keeping your heavy feelings to yourself. Thats why I am happy there is a space like this that exists.

How does that work with your public healthcare team and what does that look like to be put under them? Im sure your healthcare system is much better than ours here in the states.

I have my ctb plan. im just trying to see how much better I can get. Internally, I am hoping that my life means something and I am supposed to do something with it. Externally I would really like the house (I value privacy and peace not status), the right partner for me, a dream career, and very importantly...a community/friend group I resonate with. There is a lot I have to try to fix to get there, like my mindset. If I cannot, I might ctb.

I live in Chicago, Illinois. Our weather is all over the place. Your home looks gorgeous! 😍

That must be really difficult to have anhedonia 24/7. I hope you find what you are looking for in whatever form that may take

anhedonia/no interest in this human stuff and have felt more like an observer my whole life got me into this.
just curious what you mean by anhedonia, in your own words

for me, from a spiritual/non dual persective i feel like happiness is happening in my brain, but not in the presence of awareness

and the lack of awareness of happiness, is why i dont experience it. ive come to realise that i do have happiness in my life

any way thats my model of how the mind/spirit works

Im sure your healthcare system is much better than ours here in the states.
actually heard mixed things about the states. its good if you have money, and i feel like the individualised health care experience is better for usa

when we had (north) american patients in hosptial they hated our public health care system and were a real fucking pain to deal with lmfao

I have my ctb plan.
whats your plan, if you feel comfortable sharing

How does that work with your public healthcare team and what does that look like to be put under them? I
depwnding on your level of severity you have different levels of oversight

im under a multi disciplinary team
nurses, support workers, doctors (plural)
im getting daily-ish calls from the nurse
and weekly-ish follow up from the psychiatrist

my private psychiatrist is not suitable for the level of risk i am at,
shes lovely and also works in public system but alone she isnt equiped to deal with me

....

what care is avaliable in usa? im actually so curious. i have no idea how psychiatric care would work in terms of having a multi disciplinary team in usa

Perhaps it depends on what kind of medical or mental healthcare needs you have. Paying for it Is stupid expensive. We don't typically have much of a waiting list though if we need care.

The plan was to make an exit bag. Depression has improved some though so its not a right now plan. I did get close to using it in 2019 though.

Sounds like they take mental health very seriously there, thats great. Here, you have a team when you get hospitalized, but as soon as you are out (when your insurance stops paying) you are on your own. You can follow up with a therapist and psychiatrist when you leave if you want, but its typically up to you. No one contacts you or follows up with you. Mental health treatment has almost become a luxury, many people cannot afford it.

Total numbness my whole life. Do you see what it says under my profile pic? "I was born numb and I will die numb." If I've been this way my whole life until now and tried various treatments for it which had 0 effect, it's not going to change.

If I can ask, have you ever been assessed for autism, or had it completly ruled out?
I guess I have feelings that are muted. When I was talking to a close friend yesterday, they suggested 0 feelings as a sign of autism.

I haven't been assessed because no one ever suspected it. The psychiatrist suggested what I thought which was that it sounds like it's neurodevelopmental, but how can I identify the exact issue? No one seems to know what it is. Maybe a neuropsychologist would know? I was only diagnosed with MDD because of the anhedonia, and I've never had any classic autism symptoms.

@NumbForLife I'm not your doctor
And if lables don't work for you, don't listen to this

Autism is now on a circle, wheel -- no longer just a spectrum
By definition if you're anxious/depressed you have features of austism
If you have no other classic features than i guess you should be okay

Depending on the other parts of the circle (typically tics, noise sensitivity, dont like certain textures) are traits of autism

For me it's just depression and anxiety, I'm okay on the other measures.

For those with autism i've met, they've found this circle interesting
