I am new here and this is my first post but I have been lurking for a while.

I am planning on ctb by partial hanging, I have a car tow strap which is pretty thick and has metal hooks on either side that I can anchor to my hall bannister and behind my neck.

I plan on waiting until my wife and kids are at work and school so this will give me a good few hours time to do what I have to. I plan on having a bottle of whiskey and take some pain meds then stick some tunes on and calmly pass into another world.

I have all my affairs in order, letters written and life insurance claim details all laid out so my wife is financially secure, house paid off etc.

I just feel that no matter what I do in life I fail massively and manage to fuck everything up. This way I can leave this world with one less problem and hopefully reduce the pain on my family.

Does this all sound like it would work? I don't want to fail for obvious reasons.

I plan on leaving a note for my wife to just call the hospital so she doesn't have to actually find me, I will be behind a door so this will also reduce any potential trauma. I also plan on covering my face just in case.

Any pointers or feedback would be useful.

The note is no guarantee that your wife won't go and find you anyway. If the strap is "wide", that may spread the force out too much and not allow enough directed force to constrict the arteries. Have you "practiced" with the strap to see if it might work?

If you don't want your wife to find you I would suggest making sure someone else finds you first (police, paramedics). I don't think a note will be enough to ensure she doesn't find you.

Where are you doing this? At home? I don't think that's a good idea in case your kids find your first. Poor things don't deserve to be traumatised. Personally I don't think it's a good idea at all considering you said you have kids. It's a good thing you thought about financial stuff but I really worry your kids will suffer in the future because of the loss of one of their parents via suicide. That's why I suggest you go somewhere secluded but in a situation where the police can find you soon after so your kids don't come across your dead body and get closure soon after. Lessen the pain, if you get what I mean. Maybe make a recording of your last words to them so they have something to look back to as comfort.

The note should be enough and if not, the way I will be setup will mean my body will be behind a closed door that she won't be able to open due to the force needed. I have tried the setup and there is definitely enough pressure using the strap.
