real talk. so i expressed that i wanted to jump off a parking garage a few days ago. it's 7 stories tall. and people kept telling me its too short and how jumping is so unpredictable and such. today i saw that a woman passed from jumping off a 4 story parking garage in a city really close to me. and im just feeling really disheartened. because i cant fail. but i also haven't had any luck with finding taller building i have access to.

yeah but it would definitely hurt. the reason people recommend higher jumps is because death- or losing consciousness will be near instant.

70 feet is enough to kill you pretty quickly but sometimes its a matter of being caught too. not just as a hostage situation, but someone on the ground could call an ambulance. LD50 (lethal dose for 50% of population) for jumping is 48 feet, so jumping from 60 feet is the minimum height i would jump. the higher the height, the better until you reach a height that you will hit terminal velocity.

you can still be recovered even while your unconscious- that should go without saying.

I myself am jumping a 120ft bridge over concrete in april.

hope your ctb goes well <3

I jumped 8 stories and survived. I'm crippled. Do not do it. Any other method would be better.

Then choose life. Life as it is now is better than the same life while crippled...

if choosing life really felt like an option to me, i wouldn't be thinking about jumping off buildings.

you do not have to choose life - just keep breathing in and out - it is simple

you have been given very good advice from someone who has experience at what you wish to attempt. you should take it very seriously. 6 floors is too often, not enough. do you have experience with diving? if not, you have no idea how to land. even if you do, i am tipping that experience is not from 6 floors high, which then means you are very likely to over rotate. to do it from 6 floors, you will need a perfect belly whacker, or go in head first. but do not put your arms above your head, because then your head might be protected from fatal, but not horrific injuries

if live is bad now, just imagine how bad it will be if you survive that fall

I feel that. What about bridges?
majority of bridges here don't have pedestrian access or have suicide nets. but i could try doing some research and finding one a few cities away or something.

it's not that i'm not taking their advice seriously. i've taken in a lot of the information people have given me on here. it's why i haven't jumped. it's why i'm still trying to look for other options and be smart about it. it's just feeling a little frustrating when it's such an unpredictable thing.

Jumping definitely wouldn't be my first option, you are doing a good job thinking it all through.

Wondering why you haven't thought about any other methods? Not trying to be rude or anything like that.
