I'm counting the days until Fall arrives.
I hate Summer, I dread it all year long. I'm physically miserable for months of the year because of the heat. I don't handle it well, physically, no thanks to being on meds that fuck with my heat tolerance. Some years, I have to go to the hospital for heat exhaustion. I live in the PNW which is about the best I can hope for in Canada, we have mild Summers compared to other places I've lived [I'm looking at you, Southern Ontario].
I wish it never got above 16C/60F. About 20C/70F is like... my limit of where I can function and enjoy the weather. 25C/80F and I'll feel awful if I have to leave the house and once I get home, it can take hours for me to recover and cool off. 30C/85F and above is actual Hell. Ice pack on my neck, laying naked in bed all day and unable to sleep, unable to eat. Just overheating and misery and willing the months to pass by. Even better, now I'm premenopausal and get hot flashes!
Climate change is making this all worse, of course. The heat wave of '21 is actually what first prompted me to join SaSu. I was so close to killing myself just to avoid another Summer, to never feel that heat again. Another heat wave like that will break me.
