I have seen a couple of suicide pics where the person did partial suspension from a door. The photos only show the side where the person is hanging, I have not seen how they attached the noose to the other side. Partial suspension is my method, I am fortunate to have some rental cabins near me with open beams that I plan on using.

The most ideal place would be a metal beam right on the floor, tall enough to do the classical full suspension from a chair.
But people manage to partial suspend themselves from anything from a tree branch to a door. The meat is strong, but the spirit is weak

They usually tie it to the doorknob on the opposite side. I've also read on here that you can knot the rope around a towel and close it in the top of the door on the outside, the noose hanging inside.

In a cabin, those cross beams are usually part of the roof truss. More then strong enough.
