Here's just one example of a "profoundly sick society", from the USA...
The United States has the highest prison and jail population in the world (FAR surpassing China) and the highest incarceration rate in the world (639 per 100,000 population in 2021... over 4x the rate in the UK).
If we spent more money on housing for the poor & high-quality educations for all & mental healthcare that really worked, etc... do we really think we'd have so many people in prison? Do we really think we'd have so many police & mass shootings? Every day there are shootings and innocent people being killed here!
The sickest thing may be that many of our prisons are "privatized" (they are "for profit" business and have "owners").
When a society's prisons sell stocks on the stock-market... and they then need to show "growth" and "profits" (BY LAW, a corporation's #1 responsibility is to generate maximum returns for investors)...
I wonder... just how does a prison go-about "increasing its profits"? Hmmm... Sick! Profoundly sick!!Last edited:
