Sorry, I am in the mood to make jokes. I once again dared to use a dating app. It is one without pictures. I matched with someone first interactions quite promising. Then her messages sounded quite narcissistic and self-absorbed. She claimed most people had no empathy. And the take was quite insane. Due to the fact someone says most people lack empathy when she in fact has to empathy for them. And now it turns out she is the religious fundamentalist I once texted with. No interest in doing that again. Honestly, usually I play this game until the woman ghosts me. I realize though it is better for my self-worth and life quality to end it on my own. It feels good having done that. Oof.
I noticed though there quite some users paranoid about this website. Someone I talked with had fears because this website was on and off. (my theory: DDOS attacks as in the past)
Then there were threads that theorized mods might be bad actors and stuff like that. And I think some people really suspect the hosts of SaSu could use the IPs of members against us as blackmail material. In the past I also read theories that this forum would be connected to sellers of suicide methods materials.
I think most of that is too paranoid. I can see the possibilities that there could be bad actors as mods. But mostly it is a difficult job where you make some enemies and I don't really see the benefit to take this job. It is not like they get paid for it.
One thing I am quite sure of. This forum isn't cooperating with the feds to take all of us down. This is why I cannot imagine the IPs really can be used against us. How would that play out in practice? I think most users are relatively safe as long as they are not involved in massive criminal activities on here. I rather have the feeling the people who run this forum and the moderators are the biggest targets for legal authorities. This is why I don't really see a realistic outcome where all users go down, while the people in charge have nothing to fear. It wouldn't make much sense in my opinion. More realistically the opposite would make more sense.
I think there are some paranoid members on here. I also had paranoia in the past. I always feared the law the scenario we all could get a lot of legal trouble. But I am now member for 6 years and nothing ever happened. I had lot of anxiety in the past. There are risks on here. Real risks. There are bad apples on here. Don't change platforms too easily. Don't meet people on here in real life. Don't search for a partner on here. Don't specify your location when it isn't necessary. I am not saying this place had no risks or disadvantages. There are real things to worry about. But some risks are more real than others. I don't trust discord channels. A member who turned out as a creep once wanted to talk to me on discord. And I told him my golden rule is I don't change platforms and I don't exchange private information that could identify me on here. My gut feeling protected me of him. It always important to think the fear through. However, what if I am in on it? What if I am part of the conspiracy. 6 years posting almost every single evening. Who with a sane mind would do something like that? Well, I don't have a sane mind...I think posting on here is my autistic special interest. Lol.
