Is sulphuric acid 96% enough for GULPS generator ?

i can't get my hands on 98% sulphuric acid like pph says only 96% is it enough or is 98% absolutely necessary ?

may i ask what a GULPS generator is as that's the first i heard of that here

edit:re-read the PPH to figure it out, it does say it's possible to make a lower concentration higher in there, not sure how to do it myself and tired rn to have brain power to deep dive but that info may help

i didnt checked the new editions of ppeh did they renamed cogen to gulps lol

i think sulfuric acid in such concentrations that make it able to char any carbonaceous materials will be suitable for formic acid dehydration. but there's no way to know without testing. assuming youre gonna use acid based drain cleaner 96% should be viable:

It should be enough. It's going to get diluted in the process anyways, that's why the recipe is usually 2.5x or 3x sulfuric acid and 1x formic acid. The water from the formic acid (formic acid is sold in 85% form mostly) and the newly created h2o as the reaction goes on will dilute sulfuric acid to the point of maybe 90% at the end of the reaction. If you want to be really safe, use a little more sulfuric acid than the specified amount in ppeh.

Not much. Whatever you choose to do, never delve into this without gloves and goggles. Both of the acids are highly concentrated and HURT if spilled on your hand, or even worse gets into your eyes.

ya learned that the hard way today lol. Some guy gave some to me for free in a regular water bottle. Shit burned through the bottle and fucked my car's paint i was shocked i had bought gloves and goggles too. But thanks also u have any idea how im supposed to store it i don't remember if it's mentioned in the pph but i can'thave any other accident like this happen my parents are on to me now they know im suicidal and are evry supsicious

need to store these acids in HDPE plastic bottles or containers buckets etc.

i tested these a little with co meter.

might test more.

heat makes reaction go faster . however the reaction creates heat so imo you don't really need to heat it . so the reaction might take a while longer to get going who knows how long . i haven't tested it that much . .

thanks for answering, i do still have a few questions tho: 1. is testing it absoluetely necessary ngl im just lazy and im not sure how i would do it and im scared to fuck up again. 2.Do u have a link to a video or another guide or perhaps u've tried this already so u have experience and could tell me where it went wrong cuz again i usually fail everything i try to do so if u know anything the pph doesn't already say i would really appreciate if you could tell me.
