They might still have it on netflix, if not there's plenty of free anime sites online but Ive never used any of them lol I do know theres a lot of annoying ads though. Its def a must see.

I really suggest, you check it out. although, you may feel very empty afterwards.

I remember watching it years ago and loving it. I've lost interest in anime as of late, probably due to depression. I haven't seen the Netflix adaptation, but I've heard horrible things about it.

I am definitely not a fan of the writing or themes but HOT DAMN you'll take Takeshi Obatas art style out of my cold hands. I like it, I like the colorists' work, I obnoxiously like the ch. design of Misa. I want to do a style challenge in their style when my hands can draw again.

I deeply love it. I think I watched it more than 10 times without a joke. Lol. My favorite anime by far.
Admittedly I don't have much interest in another re-watch despite the fact is a very long time ago I watched it.

I liked Light more than L.

Oh! It's been quite a while since I've seen it but I really liked it! I remember being awed and impressed by everything in it—thr plot, characters, the production and execution itself.. they did a really good job in that adaptation. I also always have some of the songs in the soundtrack permanently in my playlists up to now.

It was the first "serious" anime I ever watched. I remember liking it until L's death. Then it became a confusing mess and that other character Near was like a weak copy of L. I still love the nostalgic 2000s imagery and aestethic of it.

I love the original Hellsing Hellsing Ultimate on the other hand well that's a different story that reboot sucked.




Yes i loved the Death Note anime back in middle school i used to watch it when it aired on Adult Swim back in the day. However my favorite version of Death Note would have to be the Japanese live action movies because L isn't killed by Light and actually wins.

Maybe an interesting fact about Death Note. The authors published the short story "C-Kira" where they argumented completely against assisted suicide and the right to die. People who assist people in dying are portrayed as monsters in that story. The story is completely pro-life and arguments against the idea that people should be able to determine the end of their own life.

Moreover in another series of the mangakas in Bakuman the father of the protagonist calls people who commit suicide weak and I think the main character internalizes that message.

Don't shoot the messenger. Well maybe you should do that so that I could stop obessively thinking about doing it myself.

I liked some of the aesthetic, L and Ryuk.. otherwise it seemed very shallow as a story, so stopped reading soon.
The issue must be the authors as @noname223 said.
